How to Score 200+ in JEE 2020?

The JEE 2020 is not that far off. Many students start preparing for the exam when they are
in High school. But, it is not yet too late. The good news is that from this year, the JEE will be
held twice a year instead of just one. Also, instead of CBSE, NTA will now hold the exams.
However, there is no change in the course of the exam.

With just a few months left for the JEE 2020, it is important to prepare systematically. Hard
work is essential but, it alone is not enough to score well. You need to follow effective
techniques if you want to score 200+ in the exam.

Tips to score 200+ in JEE 2020

Spending hours after hours practicing questions without a plan is not a smart idea. Just
clearing the exam is not enough to get admission into the institution of your choice. At
least 170 marks are required if you want to get into the top IIT’s. The following tips will help
you score high in JEE 2020.

1. Read relevant material

There are so many books in the market that might confuse you. Different books are
provided in different coaching centers. Sometimes, students are made to read the same
topics from different books. This is something you should avoid. Read from NCERT books
along with some reference books as it has helped students in cracking the exam. You will
also need a decent question bank and past years question papers.

2. Practice with a timer

As a student, you will want to enter the examination hall with calmness and confidence.
One way to achieve it is by practicing with a timer. Always use a timer while attempting
mock tests. This will help you get comfortable with solving the answers in a specific period.
Check websites online that offer JEE main mock test in the NTA format.

3. Revision techniques

Repetition is the key to longer memory retention. It is important to revise your formulas
and notes if you don’t want to waste time trying to recall them in the examination hall.
Revision is important, especially for Chemistry. Make notes of important points and
chemical reactions and revise just the main points instead of reading the whole thing.

Another helpful revision technique is to mark the sections and the problems that you were
not able to solve in the first attempt. When you sit down for revision, start with those
points first.

Conclusion

Students often avoid guessing how much they will score in the exam. If they aim to score
200, they would attempt questions worth 200 marks. But, the result would be less. If you
want to score 200+ then you have to aim for 270.
You should also try to stay calm. Panicking will make you commit silly mistakes or even
cause you to go blank and forget formulas in the examination hall. Keep a few minutes
aside to re-check all the answers.
